New Years' Redo

1/31/2020

The other day a friend of mine made a great statement: “Can I treat February 1st as my New Years' start to 2020? Because January just didn’t work out how I had hoped.” What a brilliant idea! Seeing as how my January also didn’t work out quite as I had planned, I am *all about* a New Years’ Redo. As we wrap up this series on coaching, I wanted to remind you of a few things.
  1. There is nothing magical about January 1st. You can pick any day of any month to do a reset. Perhaps it’s a reset of your goals, eating habits, or even the day to day schedule. If you’re not sure where to start, but you know you don’t want the rest of the year to feel like January felt for my friend (and me, to be very honest!) schedule a free 15 minute consultation with me as your coach and we can figure it out together!
  2. Coaching is for everyone. Let me repeat that. Coaching is for everyone. Why? Because if we get really honest with ourselves, we are all a work in progress. I’ve recently started working with a coach again and it has jumpstarted me in the best way possible. So yes, even coaches and counselors seek out coaching!
  3.  Work with measurable outcomes. The biggest thing I’ve learned in working with coaches over the years is to be sure that you are working with measurable outcomes. Whatever that big dream is, take the time to break it down into action steps that will give you measurable outcomes. There is so much research behind why this approach works so please trust me when I say it’s worth your time and effort to really dig into what it will take to accomplish your dream.

Beryl Markham, a female bush pilot, author, and the first pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic from East to West, once said, “Success breeds confidence.” I absolutely love that! I can’t think of a better quote to leave you with to wrap up our coaching series. Whether it is me or another coach, I hope you take the time to work with someone who can call that success out of you and help you gain the confidence to make 2020 the best year possible.

Be well,

JoEllen
